Job summary

Poutrix is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join our Water Business Construction Management team in Los Angeles, California. The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of experience in heavy civil/utility construction and is proficient in managing multiple project priorities.

This role involves inspecting contractor work, preparing reports, and leading safety meetings. Competitive salary range is $145,000 - $200,000 annually, along with excellent benefits including medical, dental, paid leave, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of heavy civil/utility field construction experience.
  • Experience with civil construction inspection activities on small to larger sized projects.
  • OSHA 30-hour Training Certificate.

Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join our Water Business Construction Management team out of Los Angeles, California.

This is an exciting opportunity for a self‑motivated individual to work locally with support from the best municipal consulting firm in the country.

Role Accountabilities
  • Observe and inspect contractor‑performed construction work to ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Prepare detailed daily activity and progress reports, review project schedules, and negotiate change orders.
  • Lead weekly progress meetings, process RFIs and submittals, and perform necessary mathematical calculations and deviation analyses.
  • Lead quality assurance approaches, monitor code compliance, and support Arcadis’ safety standards through daily site inspections and coordination of special and material testing.
  • Conduct construction, safety, and coordination meetings and recommend sound technical solutions.
  • Monitor and document contractor labor, materials, and equipment utilization, support time‑and‑material work, and assist with negotiation of time impact analysis and change orders.
Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of heavy civil/utility field construction experience.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related construction management field.
  • Experience with civil construction inspection activities on small to larger sized Heavy Civil construction projects.
  • Experience in construction management of stormwater and recreation facilities.
  • OSHA 30‑hour Training Certificate.
Salary & Benefits

Salary range: $145,000 - $200,000 per year (actual salaries vary based on factors such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location).

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, EAP, 401(k), STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program, wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement, nine paid holidays, and 20 days PTO per year.
