Vanir Construction Management, Inc. is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead on-site management for complex projects in California, including DSA programs.

You will supervise the construction management team, coordinate with contractors, and ensure adherence to contracts, budgets, and schedules. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or architecture, plus 9+ years in construction management and CA public project experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or architecture is required.
• Minimum 9 years as a Construction Manager with 3+ years as Senior Construction Manager supervising staff.
• Experience with DSA/public projects in California.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects stay on budget and schedule, and meet contract requirements.
• Supervise construction management team including CM(s), ACM(s), field staff and others.
• Coordinate and monitor activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects and related entities.

Job Description

The Senior Construction Manager provides the onsite leadership, coordination, and direction for construction management activities for multiple or complex projects. Duties include ensuring the project(s) are on budget, schedule, and the design fits the requirements for the contracts. Will supervise construction management team, which may consist of Construction Manager(s), Assistant Construction Manager(s), Field/Project Engineer(s), field administrative staff and other project staff as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The Senior Construction Manager is responsible for providing the following services or for supervising the Construction Management team members who perform these services:

• Construction Management, Quality Control/Quality Assurance, and Inspections
• Provides construction management services onDSA multiple or complex projects
• Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements for DSA projects
• Responsible as onsite liaison with contractor and oversight of progress of construction
• Coordinates, directs, and monitors activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
• Manages project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures or as required by the client
• Conducts project meetings and provides meeting minutes, documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information
• Ensures contractors, architects, and engineers will adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment
• Provides management of project logistics, organization and safety
• Ensures project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for turnover to the owner, including DSA closeout requirements
• Ensures project team adheres to safety requirements
• Performs other duties as required to ensure project success

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture is required
• Minimum of 9 years of experience as a Construction Manager and an additional 3 years of experience as a Senior Construction Manager supervising staff is required
• Experience with DSA / public projects in California
• Understanding of Linear and Vertical Construction
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related Construction Management systems
• Ability to handle multiple contractors and multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously is required
• Registration as an Architect, Professional Engineer, and/or licensed as a General Contractor is preferred
• Certified Construction Manager preferred
