Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Construction Manager for Boise to lead on-site construction activities across a fast-paced delivery environment. You will coordinate with owners, contractors, and design teams to ensure schedules, cost, and quality targets are met.

The role requires 15+ years in construction management, CCM preferred, and a strong ability to manage safety, documentation, and stakeholder relationships in large projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related engineering disciplines.
  • 15+ years of construction management experience.
  • OSHA and MSHA training and certifications are highly desirable.
  • CCM Certification preferred.
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates daily onsite construction activities with the owner and contractors.
  • Develops project schedules and tracks deviations with recommended actions.
  • Reports deviations from contract documents and codes until resolution.
  • Schedules and coordinates reviews and inspections.
  • Maintains records of activities, progress and inspections.
  • Reports to the project team on construction status, issues, and concerns.
  • Ensures compliance with occupancy requirements and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Monitors progress to meet cost, schedule and quality standards.
  • Reviews plans, RFIs, submittals, schedules, shop drawings and pay applications (QA/QC).
  • Prepares final documentation for closeout and project files.
  • Promotes safety controls and a safe workplace.
  • Trains and mentors construction administration staff.
  • Extensive knowledge of design management and related processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Your Opportunity

As a Senior Construction Manager, you will provide fully qualified management of program construction activities in a fast-paced professional, design and delivery environment.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinates daily onsite construction activities with the owner and a liaison with contractors, design professionals, clients and relevant external parties.

  • Provides input to the development of project schedules, coordinates the work according to approved schedules, reports schedule deviations and provides recommendations on any schedule modifications.

  • Reports deviations from contract documents and codes. Follows through with responsible party until resolution.

  • Schedules and coordinates reviews and inspections.

  • Maintains records of activities including work completed and inspected.

  • Meets, reviews and reports to the project team on construction status, issues, and concerns.

  • Significant experience with local authorities having jurisdiction and occupancy requirements for clients.

  • Monitors the progress of construction activities ensuring cost, schedule and quality standards are met.

  • Reviews plans, specifications, requests for information, submittals, construction schedules, shop drawings and pay applications (QA/QC).

  • Prepares final documentation for closeout process.

  • Prepares documents and maintains file management of project-related information including, but not limited to, correspondence, reports, videos and pictures.

  • Participates in the implementation of safety controls and promotes a safe workplace.

  • Trains and/or mentors construction administration staff.

  • Extensive knowledge of design management

  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Thorough knowledge of construction principles, techniques and procedures, occupational hazards and safety precautions.

  • Ability to effectively discuss project issues with contractor, project team and clients, including ability to resolve conflict situations.

  • Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the project team, obtaining and sharing necessary information.

  • Strong organizational skills and understanding of task assignment and schedule.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation.

  • Working knowledge of critical path method scheduling.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or adjacent engineering disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.).

  • 15+ years of construction management experience

  • OSHA and MSHA training and certifications are highly desirable.

  • CCM Certification preferred

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
