Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join our Construction Services Team in Fairfax. This is a multi-year project with relocation offered, supporting comprehensive construction management across all phases from pre-bid to closeout.

The ideal candidate brings 20+ years of CM experience, a PE license, and a background in wastewater treatment plant projects. CCM preferred. Competitive six-figure compensation and robust benefits accompany the role.

  • Experience in Wastewater Treatment Plant CM or construction.
  • PE license is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-bid services including review of bid documents, constructability reviews, and cost estimates.
  • Assist during bidding and procurement phases.
  • Process shop drawings and other contractors’ deliverables.
  • Support construction change management including negotiations and change orders.
  • Provide resident engineering and inspection services.
  • Review and analyze construction schedules; ensure quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinate material testing and maintain project files.
  • Support value engineering studies and Envision process.
  • Assist with permits and coordination; mitigate hazards with safety plans.

What You Will Do

GFT is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join our Construction Services Team in Fairfax! (Relocation is offered as this is a multi-year project)

We oversee every construction phase to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide pre-bid services such as review of bid documents, constructability reviews, and cost estimates.
  • Assistance during the bidding phase.
  • Process shop drawings and other contractors’ deliverables.
  • Assistance in the construction change management to include negotiations and preparation of change orders.
  • Resident engineering and inspection services.
  • Construction schedule review and analysis.
  • Quality assurance.
  • Material testing.
  • Maintenance of project files.
  • Participation in value engineering studies and support with Envision process.
  • Claims avoidance, analysis and resolution.
  • Utility services coordination during construction.
  • Manage/coordinate the impact of construction on plant’s operation.
  • Commissioning services to include SCADA services, startup.
  • Project closeout and post-construction services.
  • Other services related to the completion of construction and operation of the facility.
  • Other professional services as requested by the County.
  • Construction management field office support–officer rental, maintenance.
  • Assistance with alternative delivery methods.
  • Support County safety personnel to ensure safety compliance by implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental plans, conducting site safety audits, and coordinating with contractors to mitigate hazards.
  • Permitting support and coordination.
What You Will Bring to Our Firm
  • A minimum of 20 years demonstrated experience in project management, construction management, business, or related field managing large projects.
  • Experience in Wastewater Treatment Plant CM or Construction.
  • PE mandatory.
What We Prefer You Bring
  • CCM preferred.
  • Program Management experience preferred.
Compensation

The salary range for this role is $225,000 - $260,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
