RK&K is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our Southeast Georgia team, conducting highway and bridge inspections on major projects. The role emphasizes strong technical evaluation, coordination with project management, and adherence to safety and QA/QC practices.

The successful candidate will bring 5+ years of roadway/structure experience, GDOT training, WECS, and Field Concrete Technician Certification, with a track record of leading inspection teams on active sites.

Qualifications

• Five (5) + years of experience in roadway and structures construction.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction management support, including inspection, and monitoring of construction to ensure safety compliance.
• Engage in solving complex problems and provide technical evaluation and sound solutions.
• Monitor activities of other inspectors.
• Communicate effectively with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors.
• Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects.
• Recordkeeping, materials testing, and reporting as required.
• Uphold high integrity and ethics in dealings with clients and others.

RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection and Construction Management Division is hiring Senior Construction Inspector to join our team in Southeast Georgia. As a Senior Construction Inspector with RK&K you will strengthen our construction engineering and inspection business while leading complex and routine inspections on projects including: highway, bridge, design/design-build projects. Essential Functions

• Provide construction management support, including inspection, and monitoring of construction ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Fully engage in solving complex problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions
• Monitor the activities of other inspectors
• Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors
• Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects
• Recordkeeping, materials testing, and reporting as required
• Must possess high integrity and ethics in all aspects of dealing with clients, subconsultants, and peers

Required Skills and Experience

• Five (5) + years of experience in roadway and structures construction
• GDOT Construction Engineering Inspection Training Groups 1, 2, and 3
• GDOT WECS
• GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification
• Advanced working knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and construction methods, materials, and equipment
• Working knowledge of GDOT manuals, policies and procedures, include the Construction Manual
• Ability to understand, explain, and administer contracts; and interpret construction plans, provisions, standards, and specifications
• Ability to train, coordinate, and supervise inspection technicians in the field
• Understanding of QA/QC development and execution process
• Serving daily on job sites is expected, clean driving record
• Experience with MS Office and mobile devices

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous experience with GDOT, especially as Senior Inspector

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to perform field inspections on active construction sites. The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, navigate uneven terrain, and climb ladders or stairs. Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment and materials weighing up to 20–30 pounds on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and may include exposure to construction-related hazards.
