Terracon in West Texas seeks experienced construction inspectors for field inspections across multiple disciplines, including structural steel, concrete, masonry, and fireproofing. The role emphasizes adherence to contract specs, safety, and detailed reporting across project sites in Amarillo and surrounding regions.
Qualified candidates typically hold a high school diploma, 4–6 years of inspection experience, and multiple certifications (NICET/ICC/AWS/ASNT).
This position can sit in any of our West Texas region offices. Construction inspectors spend the majority of their time working on projects, performing construction‑related inspections that require specific certifications and/or experience. They conduct daily inspections, monitoring quality and adherence to building code requirements, construction drawings, and project specifications. Inspections may involve multiple disciplines or focus on a specific area of expertise, such as structural steel, concrete, masonry, or fireproofing. Inspectors may perform visual/physical inspections and field testing to verify conformance with the plans and specifications. They prepare inspection reports, provide written documentation of observations and testing of materials, and communicate findings to engineers or project managers. When requested, they collaborate with the project team on solutions to potential issues and adhere to strict safety standards.
