Perform inspections on large, complex, and diverse projects requiring expertise and knowledge in multiple areas of construction inspection. Oversee the work of other testing and inspection personnel.

Essential Roles And Responsibilities

• Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and specified procedures to ensure work complies with contract specifications.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Prepare inspection reports and document nonconformance.
• Perform basic data analysis to verify accuracy before communication and submission to the Project Manager.
• Communicate information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed.
• Interact with clients and site personnel to resolve findings.
• Assist Project Manager in developing scope for testing and inspection services.
• Coordinate pre-dispatch activities with relevant managers.
• Maintain equipment operation and calibration.
• Lead, direct, and coordinate activities of lower-level inspectors.
• Perform advanced fieldwork and assist with project management.
• Follow safety rules and report safety issues or concerns.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology preferred.
• Minimum 4-6 years of experience in construction inspection.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Required Certifications

• Completion of related internal safety certifications.
• At least four certifications from the following list:
  • NICET Level II in Construction Materials Testing or Geotechnical.
  • ICC certifications in various structural and fireproofing areas.
  • AWS CWI.
  • ASNT Level II in various nondestructive testing methods.
  • Other relevant certifications as deemed appropriate.
  • ACI certifications in concrete testing (if applicable).
  • Radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation certifications.
