Job summary

Bear Real Estate Group is seeking a Construction Controller in Kenosha, WI. This senior role leads the financial management of CMA and Bear Homes construction activities, oversees job-cost accounting, WIP, forecasting, and internal controls, and partners with development leadership to optimize project performance.

You will report to the CFO, drive monthly closes, maintain reporting standards, and coordinate audits and lender requirements, while building strong controls across the construction

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or CMA preferred for leadership role.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in construction/homebuilding or project controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes with reconciliations and revenue recognition.
• Own project accounting, including tracking budgets, costs, change orders, and final costs.
• Provide analysis on job-cost performance, margins, and cash requirements to senior leadership.
• Coordinate external audits, tax returns, banking, and bonding requirements for CMA.
