Job summary

WSP USA in Cincinnati, Ohio is seeking a Part-Time Senior Construction Engineer to join our CM Team. You will monitor progress, manage risks, review submittals, and oversee safety and quality on our projects.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering or construction management background, at least five years of experience leading projects and inspectors, and strong contractual understanding to support owner representation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience.
• Experience leading projects and inspectors.
• Experience with utility construction, building construction and/or basic mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and understand contract documents.
• Knowledge of construction practices, building codes and project delivery methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Proven experience in construction management, preferably with owner representation.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health, safety and harassment policies.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience
• Experience leading projects and inspectors
• Experience with utility construction, building construction and/or basic mechanical equipment
• A demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents
• Deep understanding of construction practices, building codes, and project delivery methods
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• Proven experience in construction management, preferably with a focus on owner representation
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working as an Resident Engineer on underground utility replacement and building construction
• Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
