Job summary

Wilson Elser is seeking a Senior Construction Litigation Attorney to lead a manageable caseload focused on construction-related litigation. The ideal candidate will exhibit legal proficiency, strategic insight, and the ability to independently manage cases through trial.

The role requires 5+ years of defense litigation experience, Florida admission, and strong drafting of discovery and pretrial motions. A construction defect background is highly preferred, with hybrid work options available.

  • Admitted to practice in Florida.
  • 5+ years of defense litigation experience.
  • Construction defect practice experience strongly preferred.
  • Drafting discovery and pretrial motions required.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a caseload of construction litigation matters, from inception through resolution or trial.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Collaborate with partners and team members on case strategy and complex legal issues.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, providing timely updates, legal analysis, and strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with court deadlines, procedural requirements, and firm standards.
  • Utilize legal research tools and case management systems effectively.

The Position

The Senior Construction Litigation Attorney will handle a manageable caseload involving construction-related litigation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate both legal proficiency and strategic insight, while also being capable of independently managing cases through trial.

Responsibilities
  • Independently manage a caseload of construction litigation matters, from inception through resolution or trial.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Collaborate with partners and team members on case strategy and complex legal issues.

  • Ensure compliance with court deadlines, procedural requirements, and firm standards.
  • Utilize legal research tools and case management systems effectively.
Qualifications
  • JD from an ABA accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of Florida
  • 5+ years of defense litigationrequired
  • Construction defect practice experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in construction law or related practice areas preferred
  • Drafting discovery and pretrial motions required
  • 2nd chair trial experience a plus
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
