Job summary

Kent Companies in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an experienced concrete finisher to perform all aspects of the finishing process on commercial pours. You will grade, set up formwork, place concrete, and finish to spec while maintaining clean, safe job sites.

The role requires 2–4+ years of concrete finishing, ability to read specs, and reliable transportation. Strong communication with crew leads and supervisors is essential, as is adherence to PPE and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of consistent concrete finishing experience.
• Ability to read and follow specifications.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Pour, level, and finish freshly placed concrete.
• Understand and achieve specified finishes, with attention to detail and quality.
• Wear PPE, including hard hat and high-visibility apparel as required.
• Work in a variable environment, indoors and outdoors, in inclement weather.
• Communicate effectively with crew lead, foreman, and superintendent on safety, quality specs, and problem-solving.
• Safely perform labor tasks on concrete sites, including using power and hand tools.
• Utilize measurement and carpentry to build custom formwork.
• Move materials by hand, prepare for placement, install shoring, maintain clean sites.
• Set and place forms, construct/dismantle formwork, erect/dismantle shoring, and place concrete into forms.
• Use elevation specs to set up laser leveling and establish grade lines.
