Imperium Global, a national, employee-owned contractor with offices across the United States, is seeking a Senior Concrete Estimator to lead the development of accurate concrete estimates across a range of project types. You will work with preconstruction, operations, and business development teams, serve as a technical resource for junior estimators, and may be based remotely, in a hybrid arrangement, or in one of the company’s U.S.

offices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction estimating experience with concrete focus.
• Proven ability to develop detailed cost estimates and takeoffs for concrete scopes.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specs, and addenda for scope gaps and risks.
• Ability to mentor junior estimators and support bid processes.
• Travel occasionally for bid meetings and site visits.

My client is a national, employee-owned contractor with offices across the United States. They are seeking an experienced Senior Concrete Estimator to join their preconstruction team and support a growing national pipeline.

Position Summary

The Senior Concrete Estimator will lead the development of accurate, competitive concrete estimates across a range of project types. They will work closely with preconstruction, operations, and business development teams, and will serve as a technical resource for junior estimators. This role offers flexibility: they may be based remotely, in a hybrid arrangement, or in one of my client’s U.S. offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for concrete scopes, including foundations, slabs on grade, structural elements, tilt-up, post-tensioned and elevated decks, walls, columns, and site concrete
• Evaluate means and methods, formwork systems, reinforcing, placement and finishing approaches, and schedule impacts to develop competitive pricing
• Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier bids for concrete, rebar, formwork, and related scopes
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities
• Develop and maintain relationships with concrete subcontractors, suppliers, and material vendors
• Participate in bid strategy, go/no-go discussions, and pre-bid meetings
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure a smooth handoff from estimate to execution
• Maintain cost databases and benchmark estimates against historical project data
• Mentor and guide junior estimators and support team standards and best practices
• Support client presentations, interviews, and negotiations as needed

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction estimating experience, with significant concrete-specific expertise
• Strong working knowledge of concrete construction methods, means, and costs
• Proficiency with estimating and takeoff tools such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or similar, plus Excel
• Experience with estimating platforms such as Sage Estimating, HCSS HeavyBid, or comparable [to be tailored to client’s systems]
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
• Willingness to travel occasionally for bid meetings, site visits, and team collaboration

• Experience on commercial, industrial, healthcare, infrastructure, or heavy civil concrete work
