Job summary

Scandit Tampere is seeking a Senior Computer Vision Engineer to lead the technical discovery and early development of a new CV-driven retail solution. You will validate risky assumptions, build end-to-end prototypes, and collaborate with product, data and engineering teams to turn real-world video data into robust, privacy-aware models.

The role combines cutting-edge CV/ML research with production constraints, requiring deep technical expertise and an experimental approach to deliver

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience in computer vision and machine learning, including training, evaluating and deploying models in production.
• Proven track record of building end-to-end CV/ML systems from 0→1, ideally commercial products.
• Strong expertise with video-based pipelines and action recognition in retail or similar domains.

Responsibilities

• Defining and prioritizing technical experiments to validate risks for CV models in retail stores.
• Designing and implementing end-to-end CV/ML pipelines on real-world video data from ingestion to deployment.
• Setting up and refining annotation workflows to create high-quality training/test datasets.
• Collaborating with product and engineering to turn business needs into technical roadmaps.
• Providing technical leadership in video-based CV applications and guiding hiring for the team.
