Job summary

ManTech is seeking a Senior Computer Vision Engineer in Ashburn, VA, to design and implement advanced CV solutions. The role focuses on Python-based development with OpenCV, NumPy, and scikit-image, applying CNNs, RNNs, and Transformers using TensorFlow or PyTorch.

You will lead end-to-end deployment of models into production environments across cloud and edge devices, optimizing for real-time inference while processing large 2D/3D datasets.

Qualifications

• Experience levels: HS 15–20 yrs, AS 13–18 yrs, BS/BA 7+ yrs, MS 5+ yrs, PhD 3+ yrs.
• Expertise with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras) and CV libraries (OpenCV, SimpleITK, ITK/MVIK).
• Productionizing models: Docker, cloud deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP), inference optimization.
• 2D/3D imaging analysis: reconstruction, segmentation, detection, volumetric modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement efficient CV algorithms and software in Python and libraries.
• Apply deep learning for object detection, segmentation, tracking, recognition with TF or PyTorch.
• Preprocess and augment large 2D/3D datasets for model training and evaluation.
• Lead deployment of trained models to production (cloud/edge), optimize for real-time inference.
• Collaborate with Software Engineering and Data Science teams to integrate vision systems.
• Research and benchmark new CV tech to maintain competitive edge.

# Senior Computer Vision EngineerManTechAshburn, USFull-time## About the RoleMANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Computer Vision Engineer to join our AI innovation team in Ashburn, VA. This is currently a hybrid position with two days onsite and three days remote.Each day U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) oversees the massive flow of people, capital, and products that enter and depart the United States via air, land, sea, and cyberspace. The volume and complexity of both physical and virtual border crossings require the application of solutions to aid officers in detecting threats while promoting efficient trade and travel.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:+ Design, develop, and implement highly efficient computer vision algorithms and software primarily using Python and relevant libraries (e.g., OpenCV, NumPy, scikit-image).+ Apply deep learning techniques (e.g., CNNs, RNNs, Transformers) for object detection, segmentation, tracking, and recognition using frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.+ Perform comprehensive image preprocessing and augmentation on large datasets of both 2D (standard images/video/X-rays) and 3D (e.g., volumetric data) data.+ Develop and optimize biometric recognition systems (face, iris, fingerprint) and integrate with predictive modeling pipelines for risk scoring and anomaly detection.+ Lead the integration and successful deployment of trained models into production environments (e.g., cloud, edge devices).
