ExploreTech Inc. in San Diego, CA is seeking a Computational Geoscientist to advance forward modeling, inversions, and ML models for mineral targeting. You will work with geologists, geophysicists, and engineers to translate research into production-ready code.

The role requires a PhD or equivalent, 3+ years in research, strong numerical methods, and Python expertise. Occasional travel to remote sites in the US and worldwide is expected. Starting salary is $180,000 plus equity.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent research experience in geoscience-related field.
• 3+ years of research experience in industry or academia.
• Proficiency in Python and scientific computing with large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop forward models and inversions for geophysical data.
• Build ML models predicting mineralization in 3D from geological and geophysical data.
• Design validation studies comparing model predictions with drilling results.
• Run large-scale simulations on high-performance computing systems.
• Work with software engineers to move research code into production.
• Document and publish methods internally, and externally where appropriate.
• Join field campaigns to see how data are collected.
