Job summary

City of Hope’s Beckman Research Institute is seeking a Staff Scientist in the Computational Data Sciences Shared Resource. You will provide advanced bioinformatics, multi-omics data analysis, and computational support across cancer, diabetes, and translational studies.

Lead design of analyses, implement pipelines, and assist in grant development. You will collaborate with researchers and the Director to ensure rigorous, reproducible results and training activities, contributing to publications

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in bioinformatics, computational biology, mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science, or related quantitative discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in computational methods used in biomedical/translational research.
• Experience with multi-omics datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, single-cell, imaging).
• Strong programming in R, Python, MATLAB, Bash; experience with HPC or cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design studies and analyze data across genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, imaging, and clinical/translational datasets.
• Develop, implement, and document computational workflows and pipelines for reproducible analyses.
• Collaborate with investigators on study design, computational strategies, data quality, and interpretation of results.
• Develop innovative computational methods including ML and mathematical modeling.
