Job summary

The Bergaila Companies in Williston, ND seeks a seasoned Compressor Mechanic to join our client’s field team. This role requires hands-on expertise in gas compression, engine and compressor repairs, and the ability to travel for assignments across multiple states.

You will diagnose and repair failures, perform rebuilds and tune CAT and Cummins engines, assist with on-site installation, maintain thorough field reports, and uphold safety policies on every site visit.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of compressor and engine repair experience.
• Ability to diagnose compressor failures independently.
• Experience with Vapor Recovery Units (VRU).
• Knowledge of 3600/3500 CAT engines (models 3616/3516).
• Experience servicing Sullair air compressors is a plus.
• Willingness to travel across multiple states, including nights and weekends.
• Strong diagnostic tools and mechanical inspection skills.
• Adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair engine and compressor failures with minimal supervision.
• Perform rebuilds and overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls in the field.
• Tune engines to OEM specifications, focusing on CAT and Cummins.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and start-up of new units on-site.
• Use precision tools for mechanical inspections.
• Respond to emergency repairs and travel as needed.
• Maintain field service reports, expense reports, and timesheets.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental policies.
