Job summary

Anduril Industries in Irvine, CA is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer to build a software ecosystem for a next‑generation electronic warfare platform. You will develop high‑performance algorithms and work with DSP/RFML teams to enable RF hardware integration within the Lattice OS.

You will own qualification plans, identify critical single-source components, and collaborate with design engineers and suppliers to manage obsolescence while maintaining production readiness for mission‑critical

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in EE/ME/Materials Science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in component engineering, parts engineering, or a materials and processes role supporting electronic and electromechanical hardware.
  • Hands-on experience qualifying alternate and second sources for production hardware, including form-fit-function assessment.
  • Experience with products used in demanding environments (defense, aerospace, or comparable high-rigor industry).
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Own component qualification for new parts and new sources across electrical and mechanical commodities, including semiconductors, RF components, passives, connectors, PCB/PCBA, switches, fasteners and hardware, seals, adhesives and other materials.
  • Define and execute qualification plans necessary to ensure compatibility and compliance for production and deployed EW systems.
  • Proactively identify critical single-source components across active EW designs and drive second-source qualification before it becomes urgent, owning the technical trade, the test plan, and the qualification process.
  • Perform form-fit-function analysis on candidate alternates and present findings to change control board for approval and implementation.
  • Embed with EW design engineers from architecture through NPI, influencing component selection while designs are still open, and reviewing schematics and BOMs for parts that carry avoidable supply or reliability risk.
  • Serve as the standing component resource for the design team, driving component commonality and reuse across EW programs and product configurations, reducing the number of unique parts engineering has to sustain.
  • Own the engineering-side response to obsolescence: monitor lifecycle status across active BOMs, triage EOL and PCN notices, and drive the technical resolution.

Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril’s Electronic Warfare (EW) team is seeking experienced generalist embedded software engineers to build out the software ecosystem supporting a next-generation electronic warfare platform. As an Embedded software engineer, you’ll develop high-performance implementations of numerical algorithms, collaborate with digital systems engineers to enable maximum-performance interfaces between next-gen RF hardware and software, work with DSP and RFML engineers to rapidly deploy bleeding-edge capabilities to our customers, and collaborate with the wider software organization to deliver seamless integration of electronic warfare products with the Anduril Lattice system-of-systems suite. You will apply state-of-the-art software construction techniques to ensure the timely delivery of correct mission-critical code.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own component qualification for new parts and new sources across electrical and mechanical commodities, including semiconductors, RF components, passives, connectors, PCB/PCBA, switches, fasteners and hardware, seals, adhesives and other materials.
  • Own the engineering-side response to obsolescence: monitor lifecycle status across active BOMs, triage EOL and PCN notices, and drive the technical resolution
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in component engineering, parts engineering, or a materials and processes role supporting electronic and electromechanical hardware.
  • Hands-on experience qualifying alternate and second sources for production hardware, including form-fit-function assessment
  • Working knowledge of both electrical component families and mechanical/electromechanical hardware.
  • Experience working directly with design engineers, sourcing/supply chain, and suppliers.
  • Experience with products used in demanding environments (defense, aerospace, or comparable high-rigor industry)
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with RF and microwave components and printed circuit board materials.
  • Familiarity with developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Exposure to working in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
