Q-CTRL in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Compiler Engineer to join the Computing Engineering team. You will design, implement, and optimize compiler infrastructure, IRs, optimisation passes and code generation for pulse-level quantum programs.

You will maintain and evolve a bespoke Python DSL, build high‑performance Python/C++ software, and collaborate with researchers to translate experimental algorithms into production‑quality compiler capabilities while mentoring engineers.

Formación

• Strong proficiency in Python and C++.
• Experience with LLVM/MLIR and language tooling.
• Production compiler systems design experience.
• Experience with compiler architectures, IRs, optimisation passes and code generation.
• Experience with FPGA development (Verilog, VHDL or HLS).
• Strong understanding of systems programming and software architecture.
• Experience with quantum control systems or pulse-level programming.

Salary

The targeted base salary range for this position is between $150,000 - $225,000 and will ultimately be determined by specific job-related skills, experience, level, location and other contributing factors. Depending on the position offered, this role may be eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, equity and other forms of compensation outside of the targeted base salary range.
