Prudential Financial, Inc. in Newark, NJ is seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst (Finance) to partner with the People Team on data-driven compensation decisions, market pricing, and job evaluation.

This role focuses on building pay strategies across a hybrid work environment, requiring strong analytical skills, proficiency with Excel and compensation systems, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights for senior leaders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance, Data Science, Analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience supporting compensation programs, market analysis, benchmarking, and survey participation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel and data management capabilities; experience with automation, AI-enabled tools, predictive analytics, or modeling a plus.
  • Ability to synthesize large data sets and communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with Workday, CompAnalyst, or other compensation tech platforms is a plus.
  • Experience supporting global or international compensation programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with People Team leaders to support data-driven compensation decisions related to hiring, promotions, internal mobility, and talent management.
  • Develop compensation recommendations and analyses balancing internal equity, market competitiveness, and business needs.
  • Conduct market pricing, job evaluations, and benchmarking using survey data and external market intelligence.
  • Evaluate quality and relevance of compensation survey data and market sources.
  • Support evolution of Prudential's compensation philosophy, guiding principles, and programs.
  • Contribute to job architecture and catalog to support career pathing and market alignment.
  • Provide compensation support for emerging, high-demand roles.
  • Deliver analyses and insights to address workforce and talent-related challenges.
  • Collaborate on compensation projects and annual processes with effective execution and continuous improvement.
  • Translate complex compensation data into clear insights for leaders and non-technical audiences.
