Job summary

CareQuest Institute for Oral Health Inc is seeking an experienced writer to lead strategic marketing, public relations, and policy content. You will translate complex policy priorities into clear narratives for media, policymakers, and the public, serving as the in-house resource for PR, policy, and other writing needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
• Demonstrated background in public policy writing.
• 5+ years of related experience delivering content across formats.
• Strong written communication and ability to translate complex concepts.
• Data-driven with ability to translate data into insights.
• Ability to work across departments and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of public relations and policy content, including press releases, op-eds, policy briefs, articles, statements, talking points, blog posts, and executive communications.
• Translate complex policy, research, and advocacy topics into clear narratives for media, policymakers, partners, and the public.
• Serve as the organization’s in-house resource for PR, policy, and writing deliverables.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Leadership, and program teams to shape messaging and respond to issues.
• Provide writing support for campaigns, web content, newsletters, and other channels.
• Draft and refine media-facing materials to support media engagement and thought leadership.
• Work with subject matter experts and partners to develop authoritative content reflecting the organization’s perspective.
• Assist in strategic communications planning and identify opportunities for earned media and policy engagement.
• Coordinate with external partners or agencies when needed and ensure alignment with internal strategy.
• Monitor performance and impact of PR content to refine messaging over time.
• Help establish content standards and processes for accuracy and efficiency.
