Job summary

Ocean Science Trust is seeking a Senior Communications Officer who will lead the day-to-day communications function, translating complex science into compelling external communications and shaping OST’s external voice across donors, state leaders, scientific partners, and other priority audiences.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible communications and public relations experience.
• Experience translating complex scientific/policy content for non-expert audiences.
• Experience developing donor, funder, or institutional advancement communications.

Responsibilities

• Steward OST’s external voice, messaging, and reputation across audiences and channels.
• Translate scientific/policy work into clear, compelling communications for diverse audiences.
• Lead donor and funder communications in partnership with philanthropy leadership.
• Own OST’s website, email communications, and social media channels; manage content calendars.
