Job summary

Cologix is seeking a Sr. Engineer – Commissioning to lead and support commissioning activities for mission-critical data center projects.

You will develop standards, plan commissioning per project, and coordinate with design teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure systems are tested and ready for turnover. The role requires 3–5 years of commissioning experience, strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, and familiarity with BMS/EPMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of commissioning experience supporting mission-critical and/or data center projects.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution systems including utility service, switchgear, transformers, generators, ATSs, UPS systems, and PDUs.
• Experience commissioning mechanical systems such as chillers, cooling towers, dry coolers, fan walls, CRAHs, CRACs, pumps, and associated controls.
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and integrated controls platforms.
• Understanding of commissioning processes including QAQC, start-up and energization, pre-functional testing, functional performance testing, integrated systems testing, and turnover procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop commissioning standards for the company to apply to all future projects.
• Develop commissioning plans on a per-project basis.
• Lead commissioning activities from pre-design through turnover and occupancy.
• Coordinate commissioning schedules with project managers, contractors, vendors, and commissioning agents.
• Review design documents, equipment submittals, and sequences of operation to ensure testability.
• Track commissioning progress and maintain logs and turnover documentation.
• Attend factory witness testing (FWT) and facilitate site acceptance testing (SAT).
• Verify installation, pre-energization and startup of critical systems.
• Travel domestically in the US and Canada to support project needs.
