This role requires ABET‑accredited degrees with FE or EIT preferred, strong communication, and knowledge of modeling software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and FE exam plus 3 years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree and 2 years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Basic knowledge in standard civil engineering techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of site safety procedures.
  • Experience with monitoring equipment and modeling software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare commissioning plans, specifications and checklists based on Burns & McDonnell standards.
  • Review designs, submittals, operation and maintenance manuals, start-up reports, checklists, and training programs.
  • Lead training of operation and maintenance personnel on operating modes and sequences.
  • Document commissioning results and coordinate with owner, O&M, design and construction personnel.
  • Plan, schedule and perform work for small to mid-size projects and support larger programs.
  • Develop and refine methodologies, tools, and standards for commissioning practice.
  • Lead meetings with owner and project teams to align goals and schedules for commissioning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies and standards.
