Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction is seeking a Commissioning Leader to oversee planning, execution, and verification of commissioning and quality Assurance on mission-critical data center projects across the United States. This role requires 5–10+ years of experience, a mechanical/electrical engineering degree, and deep system knowledge.

The position involves leading DFOW, ITP alignment, and cross-functional collaboration with owners, design teams, and trade partners, with regular nationwide

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years in mission-critical or data center construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Deep knowledge of electrical distribution and mechanical cooling systems.
• Experience with commissioning processes and field testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the commissioning strategy from preconstruction through turnover.
• Oversee all commissioning phases (FWT, SAT, PFT, IST).
• Ensure readiness of critical systems (electrical, mechanical, controls, life safety).
• Validate installation quality against design intent and submittals.
• Lead field inspections and coordinate with trade partners and commissioning stakeholders.
