Job summary

Global Bank seeks a Senior Commercial Underwriter AVP to join our Credit Department in New York. You will analyze commercial credit requests, assess risks, and prepare credit analyses with recommendations per underwriting guidelines.

You will collaborate with loan officers and senior management, monitor portfolio performance, and clearly communicate findings to the Chief Credit Officer and Credit Committee. CRE and C&I lending experience is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of solid commercial real estate loan and C&I loan underwriting experience. An SBA underwriting experience is a plus.
• Experience in financial analysis, structuring, underwriting, and portfolio management.
• Strong communication skills; ability to communicate vertically, horizontally, and externally.
• Industry knowledge across multiple sectors.
• Familiar with banking regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Outlook.
• A team player and willing to take on additional assignments, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate credit worthiness and provide analysis and recommendation on new loan requests, refinance, renewal, and modification request
• Collaborate with origination team/Commercial Loan Officers and Chief Lending Officer to perform analysis on credit opportunities
• Delivery of data accuracy and quality of underwriting metrics in compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as banking regulations
• Monitor the client’s operating performance and financial conditions, proactively identifying issues and opportunities, and communicating the findings to Chief Credit Officer and Senior Management Team
• Monitor existing loan portfolio’s loan maturities and collaborate with Credit Analysts, Junior Underwriters, and Loan Officers to continuously recognize and address risks in a timely manner
• Escalate deteriorating assets to Chief Credit Officer, in partnership with the Workout Team, Loan Servicing Team and Lending Team
• Perform annual reviews and conduct annual site inspections on existing portfolio
• Prepare Commitment Letters and review loan documents
• Train Junior Underwriters and Credit Analysts
• Report to Chief Credit Officer

Job Opening: Senior Commercial Underwriter – AVP

Global Bank is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Commercial Underwriter to join our Credit Department. The Senior Commercial Underwriter will be responsible for analyzing commercial credit requests, assessing financial and repayment risks, preparing comprehensive credit analyses, and making sound credit recommendations in accordance with the Bank’s credit policies and underwriting guidelines.

The successful candidate will possess strong commercial credit and financial analysis skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate credit findings and recommendations to Chief Credit Officer and Credit Committee.
