Job summary

M&K Truck Centers in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for a Commercial Painter to paint the interior and exterior of our facilities, support new construction and remodeling projects.

You will work safely at heights, lead painting teams when needed, and maintain equipment. Requirements include 5+ years of painting experience and a High School Diploma or GED; knowledge of paint products and a flexible schedule to meet daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years’ experience in painting industry.
• Knowledgeable of paint products.
• Innovative – ability to improve processes; sound judgment and problem solving skills.
• Willing to adjust work time to accommodate daily business operations.

Responsibilities

• Make on-site preparations such as scaffolding setup and barriers.
• Prepare surfaces by sanding, taping, cleaning and removing old paint.
• Remove and reinstall door hardware, fixtures and covers.
• Fill cracks and holes with caulk or spackle.
• Paint surfaces using brush, roller or sprayer according to standards.
• Calculate and obtain the correct amount of materials for each job.
• Skilled in drywall repair and finishing.
• Operate motorized lifts and maintain equipment.
• Lead team in accomplishing projects when required.
• Keep jobsite clean and safe while working.
• Travel and overtime may be required.
