Job summary

Centum is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead commercial management across projects from tender through delivery and final account. You will own contracts, cost control, forecasting, cash flow, procurement oversight, variations, claims and commercial risk.

Work closely with Quantity Surveying, Planning, Finance and delivery teams to protect margin and provide senior management with a clear view of performance. Expect travel to client meetings and site visits 1–3 days.

Qualifications

• Senior commercial management experience in electrical installations is essential.
• Strong contractual knowledge across Irish, UK and/or European projects.
• Proven experience managing cost control, forecasting, cash flow, variations, claims and Extensions of Time.
• Experience leading Quantity Surveyors and commercial teams.
• Strong negotiation skills with clients, contractors and advisers.
• Advanced Excel skills for forecasting and margin analysis.
• Experience with job-costing systems and project dashboards.
• Clear communication and analytical judgement under pressure.
• Willingness to travel for meetings and project reviews.
• Desirable data centre exposure or substantial electrical installations commercial experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead contract reviews, negotiations and commercial agreements with clear scope and risk.
• Ensure teams understand contractual requirements, notices and deadlines.
• Oversee costs, earned value, cash-flow forecasts and final margin.
• Identify margin erosion early and track recovery plans to completion.
• Lead QS function and maintain commercial controls and reporting.
• Align programmes with forecasts and resource assumptions.
• Lead change management across variations and client instructions.
• Ensure notices and claims are evidenced, priced, submitted and progressed.
• Oversee payments, certifications, retentions and forecasts with Finance.
• Support Extension of Time and other commercial claims with project specialists.
• Review procurement decisions against budgets and exposure.
• Report costs, cash flow, variations, claims, risks and forecast outcomes.
• Travel for client meetings and project progress reviews; 1–3 day site visits.
