Job summary

Columbia Bank is seeking a Senior Commercial Credit Analyst I in Fair Lawn, NJ. The role focuses on evaluating and underwriting C&I, Construction, and CRE transactions of moderate to high complexity, with a strong emphasis on credit analysis, risk assessment, and compliance.

Hybrid schedule with in-office and work-from-home days. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least four years of progressive commercial credit analysis experience in banking, along with proficiency in MS Office

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial statement and cash flow analysis.
• Working knowledge of commercial loan products, policies, procedures and federal regulations.
• Excellent proficiency with MS Office and credit analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze borrower and guarantor financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections to determine repayment ability.
• Evaluate collateral adequacy and assess overall credit risk for commercial loan requests.
• Prepare clear credit memorandums for management review and approval with analysis and risk assessment.
• Develop loan structures with commercial lending and credit management teams.
• Perform annual credit file reviews and identify early warning signs of credit risk.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
