Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking a skilled Patient Accounting professional to monitor in-house cases and the discharged not final billed report. You will mitigate denials, perform root cause analysis, and ensure accurate Level of Care information for timely reimbursements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of related patient accounting experience in denial mitigation, root cause analysis and LOC reconciliation.
• Experience with payer communications and insurance processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and pre-bill inpatient denials to ensure clean claims.
• Analyze payer delays, report root causes, and assist in process improvements.
• Write appeals to recover denials and support outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinate with Health Information Management and Clinic Operations to gather documentation.
• Track and prioritize high-balance accounts to maximize reimbursement.
