Job summary
TALENT Software Services is seeking a Senior Programmer/Team Lead to maintain, support, and develop the SCDMV Phoenix system in Blythewood, SC. The role requires CJIS certification sponsorship and independent work with strong communication.
Responsibilities include leading a COBOL development team, analyzing tickets, translating business specs, coding and testing, and providing production support for the core system.
Qualifications
- 10 years developing and maintaining complex, mission-critical apps in Windows-based client-server environments.
- 6 years with Visual and/or Micro Focus COBOL.
- 5 years leading a technical software development team.
- 10 years experience with COBOL-based business systems in Oracle SQL and Windows client-server.
- 5 years experience providing L3 production support.
- Experience translating business specs into technical specs and obtaining sign-off.
Responsibilities
- Analyze the Phoenix core business system and tickets for development or modification.
- Lead in analyzing and proposing solutions for tickets and projects.
- Translate business needs into technical specs and secure business sign-off.
- Code, test, promote, and interact with users to ensure solutions meet specs.
- Provide production support for the Phoenix system.
- Deliver daily and weekly status updates to management and business analysts.
