Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector III to lead protective coatings oversight across projects. You will review coating specifications, write inspection/ test plans, investigate failures, audit applicators, and supervise Level 1–2 inspectors while advising owners and engineers on system selection and maintenance.

The role requires AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 3 certification, current status, and 8+ years of coatings inspection experience with supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 3 certification, current, with 8+ years of coatings inspection including supervision.

Responsibilities

• Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements.
• Investigate coating failures: field evaluation, sampling, laboratory coordination, and written findings.
• Audit applicators and coating suppliers; qualify inspection subcontractors.
• Supervise and develop Level 1 and 2 inspectors; calibrate acceptance standards.
• Advise owners and engineers on coating systems, service life, and maintenance planning.
