Job summary

Construction Materials Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector III, the senior authority on protective coatings across projects. You will review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements while guiding junior inspectors.

You will investigate coating failures, audit applicators and suppliers, and advise owners and engineers on coating system selection, service life, and maintenance planning. Travel to site and outages is required.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 3 certification, current.
• 8+ years of coatings inspection including supervision.
• Coatings failure investigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements.
• Investigate coating failures through field evaluation, sampling, laboratory coordination, and written findings.
• Audit applicators and coating suppliers; qualify inspection subcontractors.
• Supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors; calibrate acceptance standards.
• Advise owners and engineers on coating system selection, service life, and maintenance planning.
