Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector III to act as the senior authority on protective coatings across projects, reviewing and writing coating specifications and inspection plans, and advising owners and engineers on system selection and quality requirements.

You will supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors, audit applicators and suppliers, and lead coating failure investigations to ensure compliance with SSPC/NACE/AMPP standards. Travel and varying shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of coatings inspection experience with supervisory responsibilities
• AMPP CIP Level 3 certification current
• Experience in failure investigations and coatings system qualification
• Experience across industrial, water/wastewater, marine, infrastructure coatings
• Ability to write coating specifications and findings that withstand scrutiny

Responsibilities

• Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements
• Investigate coating failures via field evaluation, sampling, and lab coordination
• Audit applicators and coating suppliers; supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors
• Advise owners and engineers on coating system selection, service life, and maintenance planning
