Metron Machining is building a scalable manufacturing system for complex aerospace and defense CNC machining, and the biggest constraint right now isn't machine capacity — it's the speed and repeatability of turning a new purchase order into a validated, running program. This is a senior technical role for someone who can personally program the hardest simultaneous 5-axis parts in Mastercam, then turn those decisions into standards — tooling libraries, fixture libraries, programming templates, and validated posts — that let junior and mid-level programmers execute reliably without re-solving every problem from scratch.
Metron is casting a wide net on title: whether you currently go by Senior CNC Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Manufacturing Engineer, CAM Engineer, or something close to it, if you can do this work, they want to talk to you.
Mastercam is a hard requirement — this role calls for deep, current experience personally programming difficult multi-axis parts, not learning the software on the job. You'll be working on modern 4/5-axis milling equipment running complex simultaneous toolpaths on tight-tolerance aerospace and defense components. Experience with DMG Mori, Mazak, Okuma, or similar high-end multi-axis platforms is a plus, as is prior work developing or modifying CNC post processors.
Pay: $120,000 – $145,000 per year, based on demonstrated experience. This is a national search — Metron expects the right person may currently be at a larger aerospace, defense, space, medical, or advanced manufacturing company and may not live in Colorado yet, and relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. This is an onsite role in Lakewood, Colorado.
This position involves access to export-controlled technical information. Candidates must meet applicable U.S. Person requirements.
Metron Machining is an AS9100-certified aerospace and defense manufacturer specializing in complex multi-axis CNC machining, building for scale with an emphasis on disciplined process over tribal knowledge. If you're the kind of programmer who can solve the hardest manufacturing problems and then turn the solution into a system the rest of the team can run on.
