Job summary

X Energy, LLC (X-energy) is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist in Frederick, MD. You will program, set up, and operate advanced CNC equipment, develop toolpaths, and work with engineers to implement new processes in a safety-focused facility.

The role emphasizes precision, quality data collection, and equipment care in a workshop environment, reporting to the Workshop Manager. Strong CAD/CAM proficiency and hands-on expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Fifteen (15) years of experience in a manufacturing environment with CNC programming and machine setup responsibilities.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX, or equivalent).
• Experience using precision measuring devices and inspection tools.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programs using CAM software to produce efficient toolpaths.
• Set up and operate CNC and manual machines including 5-axis mills and dual-spindle lathes.
• Perform milling, turning, drilling, tapping, reaming, and other machining operations.
• Read drawings and collaborate with engineers to implement new processes and tooling concepts.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measurement tools.
• Maintain safety, 5S/lean standards, and proper documentation.
