Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Grove City, PA, seeks a highly skilled CNC programmer to join our Grove City Diesel Engine plant. You will develop programs and processes using Mastercam and CAM methods, with a focus on improving existing machining methods and training operators.

You will lead programming efforts for 3-4 axis machines (5 axis a plus) and collaborate with maintenance to drive continuous improvement and tool strategy at the site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of technical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with programming and machine control systems.
• Strong understanding of 3, 4 axis machining centers; 5 axis knowledge a plus.
• Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, and/or Mazatrol controls.
• Ability to train/mentor other team members through technical communications and presentations.
• Independently able to complete machine, fixturing and tooling setups.
• CMM programming experience in PCDMIS and Camio languages preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with CAM programming – Mastercam preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize strong understanding of G/M Code, Mastercam, 3D design to program and optimize machining centers.
• Provide guidance and participate in selection of manufacturing methods for existing and new processes.
• Create and improve programming standard methods.
• Act as a trainer for machine operators and other programmers.
• Evaluate and troubleshoot common machining or process defects with vendors as needed.
• Lead development of strategies for equipment improvements and tooling/program technologies.
• Assist maintenance and management in process improvements and continuous improvement culture.
