Divergent in Los Angeles is seeking a hands‑on CNC Machining Specialist to develop and execute precision turning and milling strategies for high‑performance aerospace and automotive components.

This role emphasizes autonomous shop‑floor leadership, first article through production, and close collaboration with design and manufacturing engineering to translate complex hardware into robust, scalable processes.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience operating CNC turning centers.
• Cross‑functional machining experience including milling & grinding.
• Proficiency with Siemens, Fanuc and Heidenhain controllers.
• Advanced GD&T understanding and application.
• Troubleshoot and optimize tooling, fixturing and programming.
• Experience on aluminum, steels, titanium and nickel alloys (Inconel).
• Hands‑on setup techniques and multi‑operation setups.
• Take parts from first article through production.

Responsibilities

• Lead setup, operation, and optimization of turning centers for precision components.
• Execute machining and grinding across 3‑axis, 3+2, and 5‑axis mills.
• Own first article through production with quality validation.
• Develop and translate designs into scalable machining processes.
• Mentor machinists and promote best practices across shifts.
• Maintain safety and documentation on the shop floor.
