Senior CNC Machinist/Programmer, 2nd Shift
This role will be located at our Cincinnati, Ohio facility.
Role Overview
Senior Machinist/Programmer position for 2nd shift, focusing on CNC machining of consumable goods for DMLS process and metal 3D printed components.
What You’ll Do
- Setup and run 3-axis and 5-axis CNC vertical machining centers and CMM equipment
- Develop machining fixtures for complex aerospace components
- Program CNC equipment on‑line and off‑line
- Quote machining work for internal and external customers
- Maintain accurate and legible records of production work and results
- Uphold a high degree of work‑area cleanliness (daily and weekly) and organization
- Explore opportunities to add value to the organization
- Perform preventive and proactive maintenance on various shop equipment
- Understand and identify EH&S hazards, risks and controls of the machine shop operations and activities at the site
- Ensure full compliance with EHS and Quality requirements
- Allocate tooling to be ordered for jobs
You Have
- 4+ years of CNC machining experience in turbo machinery components
- Experience machining castings, forging, or 3D printed hardware an asset using 5‑axis CNC and EDM machines
- High School Diploma
- Experience in SolidCAM, MasterCam or NX PowerMill an asset
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and Microsoft Office (2 years programming experience)
- Strong technical skills in GD&T & blueprints
- Strong experience with turning/lathes
- Some experience working with heat‑resistant superalloys (Nickel Alloys)
- Experience with OKUMA and Makino multi‑axis CNC equipment preferred
- Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, communication and teamwork skills
- Exposure to working within a facility quality systems and codes (ex. ISO 9001, AS9100)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Physical Requirements
- Remain in a standing or sitting stationary position for 3‑4 hours per day (1‑2 hours at one time)
- Move about 3‑4 hours per day (1‑2 hours at one time)
- Frequently lift or carry objects between 26 – 45 pounds
- Frequently push or pull objects between 26‑45 pounds
- Frequently reach at or below shoulder level, and occasionally reach overhead
- Frequently use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls
- Occasionally bend, stoop, or twist
- Occasionally crouch, kneel, and squat
- Frequently keyboard
- Effectively communicate in person and via telephone or other electronic devices
