Job summary

Burke Porter, an Ascential Technologies Company, in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist III to set up, program, and optimize CNC milling to produce precision components in a low-volume, high-mix environment.

You will read blueprints and GD&T, select tooling and feeds, inspect parts with precision equipment, and mentor junior machinists while collaborating with engineering on process improvements and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Machinist certification or 5–8 years CNC machining experience.
• Advanced CNC setup, operation, and programming capabilities.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T, and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with CAM software; Visi CAM preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, program, and optimize CNC milling machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements.
• Inspect parts with precision measuring equipment throughout production.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement improvements to productivity and quality.
• Train and mentor junior machinists and collaborate with engineering.
