Job summary

MKS Instruments in Lawrence, MA is seeking a CNC Machinist 3 to operate CNC lathe equipment and produce parts that meet exact specs. You’ll inspect, deburr, and clean your own work and report to the Manufacturing Specialist.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of CNC experience, ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with calipers and micrometers. Work shifts are 6:50am–3:20pm or 3:30pm–12am, Mon–Fri, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School or Trade School diploma.
• 5+ years CNC machine operator experience.
• Must monitor tool wear and make dimensional adjustments (offsets).
• Able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Able to use measuring instruments Calipers and Micrometers.
• Work 6:50am - 3:20pm or 3:30pm - 12am, Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathe equipment to produce parts that meet dimensional specifications.
• Perform machining, cleaning, and inspection of own work.
• Report to the Manufacturing Specialist.
• Ensure correct machine operation (change inserts, tool holders, skim jaws).
• Conduct random inspection of parts for conformity (visual inspection with microscope).
• Deburr and clean parts and complete quality control documentation.
• Resolve issues and communicate problems to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
