Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a CNC Machinist III / Senior for the D shift at its Long Beach, CA headquarters. You will maintain, set up and operate CNC lathe and mill machines to build flight-ready hardware that meets Rocket Lab specifications at the required rate.

You should have 5+ years (III) or 8+ years (Senior) of CNC experience, with Dual Spindle live tooling and 5th axis milling, and be able to interpret drawings with GD&T. Expect competitive pay, strong benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with CNC operation on lathe and mills.
• Dual Spindle (Live Tooling) experience on lathes.
• Turning 5th axis milling experience.
• Ability to interpret drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Work with CNC lathe and mill machines
• Read and translate drawings/CAD models
• Provide feedback to improve work instructions
• Work with CNC programmer to maintain tolerances
• Work to reduce any non-conformances found by quality or engineering.
• Provide improvement ideas on batch sizes, setups, tool selection etc.
• Track calibration and maintenance of all equipment and tooling in the area.
