Job summary

The New Mexico Department of Health is seeking a Preceptor and Senior Neighborhood Nurse Aide to provide direct personal care and leadership within a long-term care facility. You will coach Certified Nursing Assistants and support residents across adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.

This safety-sensitive role requires CMA/HHA/CNA certification and at least one year of related experience, with responsibilities including training CNAs, responding to patient needs, and ensuring quality

Qualifications

• Certification as CMA, HHA, or CNA with 1 year of experience in a traditional long-term care facility.
• One year of experience may be substituted by related education or equivalent work.
• Proficiency in English reading, writing, speaking and comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient call signals, intercoms, and determine needs.
• Assist with daily living activities and bed mobility.
• Review dietary restrictions and ensure appropriate meals.
• Record intake and report changes to medical/nursing staff.
• Provide ongoing training, coaching, and leadership to CNAs.
