Job summary

Sonaca North America is seeking a skilled CMM Specialist to support quality Assurance in a high-precision aerospace environment. You will operate CMMs, read fixtures and plans, run PC-DMIS programs, and exchange data via CAD/CAM and SPC systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; pre-employment assessment if not possessed.
• Basic knowledge of MS-DOS based computer systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, mylars and customer specifications.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with measurement and calibration methods.
• Manufacturing experience with computer assisted production.
• Solid work record demonstrating quality and attendance.
• Knowledge of SPC and geometric dimensioning & tolerances.
• Ability to work with all company personnel cooperatively.
• Minimum 5 years of CMM experience or CNC mill operation with posting and running jobs.
• Familiar with PC-DMIS software preferred.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Start up and operate the CMM following proper operating and safety procedures.
• Read and understand setup sheets and set up jobs per instructions.
• Read and understand Sonaca North America sampling plan and run setup jobs per plan requirements.
• Read and understand CMM part programs; make minor setup and program adjustments on a PC system.
• Complete data exchange through CAD/CAM and SPC systems.
• Follow parts schedule; adjust to hot jobs or emergencies.
• Collaborate with CAD/CAM programmers, quality, and production to collect data and resolve problems.
• Perform daily routine maintenance on the CMM for safe, efficient operation.
• Participate in work center teams or project teams.
