Job summary

Confluent is seeking engineers to build a high-availability storage engine for Kora, a true managed service for clients demanding scalable performance and cost efficiency. You will help design, develop, and operate the platform, shaping end-to-end technical solutions with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes deep distributed systems knowledge, cloud experience, and the ability to own complex projects from concept to production, while collaborating across time zones and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant cloud infrastructure/cloud networking experience.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development.
• Experience building and operating large-scale systems in the Cloud.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, C/C++, Go or other statically typed languages.

Responsibilities

• Build the software underpinning the mission-critical Confluent Cloud storage engine.
• Independently drive execution of software projects to deliver complex projects in production with a focus on quality.
• Identify root causes and solve hard problems beyond symptom treatment.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve operations for complex tech stack across clouds.
• Collaborate with the team to make decisions benefiting the project and company.
• Focus on customer success by solving challenging problems for clients.
