Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking a software engineer to own the cloud-to-device software ecosystem that monitors, manages and optimizes our distributed energy assets.

You will work at the intersection of cloud, data and embedded device software, enabling secure telemetry, remote diagnostics and updates across thousands of generators while designing for 99%+ uptime and industrial-grade reliability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development on production systems, including team leadership.
• Experience with device-to-cloud architectures, IoT and distributed telemetry pipelines.
• Experience with GCP or AWS and cloud infrastructure.
• A reliability-first mindset with a focus on high uptime in industrial environments.

We’re looking for the right software engineers to own the cloud-to-device software ecosystem that monitors, manages and optimizes our distributed energy assets. This is a rare opportunity to unify cloud, data, and embedded device software under one technical vision — and scale a platform that directly enables the energy transition.

This is industrial-grade, uptime-critical, hardware-connected software.

• Ingest and process real-time telemetry from thousands of generators at high speed


• Enable secure monitoring, diagnostics, and control of remote devices at scale


• Build infrastructure to enable updating software on remote embedded devices

• You are a systems thinker who understands that software decisions impact physical infrastructure.


• 7+ years in software development on production systems, including team technical leadership


• Experience with device-to-cloud architectures, IoT and distributed telemetry pipelines


• Experience with GCP (preferred) or AWS


• Experience in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure


• A reliability-first mindset — 99% uptime isn’t good enough


• Experience in Industrial IoT, energy systems, industrial automation, or fleet-scale device platforms a plus
