Job summary

Vanguard seeks an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise cloud security for critical IT platforms. You will provide expert support for cloud production, diagnose complex security issues, and contribute to building secure, scalable infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in software/ platform engineering with DevOps expertise, cloud platform experience, and strong collaboration skills. Hybrid work and visa sponsorship are available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering, platform engineering.
• DevOps experience is required.
• Deep technical proficiency in Java and/or Python development; ability to deliver complex solutions using DevOps practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and source control platforms.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization concepts.
• Experience troubleshooting production systems and incident response.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements new security technologies and major releases for the most critical enterprise-wide IT cloud platform projects.
• Designs, implements, and deploys cloud security systems to support and meet business needs.
• Identifies, recommends, and implements opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions.
• Provides expert level technical support and ensures reliable operation of cloud production.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots the most complex security issues for cloud computing systems.
• Develops auditing methodologies and architecture to manage and protect data in cloud computing environments.
• Elevates code into development, test, and production environments on schedule and documents changes.
• Trains and mentors junior staff on processes and technologies; updates and maintains department documentation.
