Senior AWS Security Engineer | 6-Month Contract | Hybrid

Our client is an established healthcare technology company supporting approximately 48,000 pharmacies and over 70 million patients nationwide.

We're seeking a hands-on Senior AWS Security Engineer for an approximately six-month contract to help strengthen cloud security and reduce an existing backlog of security engineering initiatives.

This is an execution-focused role, not a traditional security architecture or advisory position. You'll work in a predominantly AWS environment, implementing security improvements and collaborating with cloud, application, and security engineering teams.

Quick Overview

• Location: Orlando, FL; Overland Park (Kansas City), KS; or Dublin (Columbus), OH
• Hybrid: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday onsite; Wednesday and Friday remote
• Employment: Contract only — approximately 6 months
• Environment: Approximately 95% AWS
• Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
• Rate: $70-90/hr (W2 or C2C)

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on AWS security engineering experience, including direct implementation of security controls.
• Practical DevSecOps, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD security experience.
• Experience with cloud/application security, vulnerability management, and technical remediation.
• Ability to independently execute security improvements in a collaborative engineering environment.

Preferred: Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS IAM, AWS security services (Security Hub, GuardDuty, Config, Inspector), security automation, or application security scanning tools. Healthcare, SaaS, or regulated-industry experience is a plus.

No specific tools or certifications are mandatory. Proven hands-on engineering experience is the priority.
