About the role and what you will be doing:

ThePublicCloudProductEngineering teamworks closely with our Product Management team to bring to life standard services and solutionsthat can be repeatedly sold tomultiple managed servicecustomers.
Using your strong background in automation,engineering,and best practiceyou willalsoplaya major roleindefiningand evolvingour public cloud standards, implementing new tools,onboarding new AWS and GCP services, andact as an SME supporting other teams.
The successful candidate will be someone who candemonstratea genuine desire and passion forpublic cloud;automation;keeping it simple,supportable,and scalable;with proven ability todeliverpragmatic workablesolutionson time.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead engineer on Product Engineeringepics and stories.
- Develop (“operationalize”) new repeatableEnsono public cloudservices and solutions.
- Define andevolvepublic cloudtechnicalstandardsto ensurerepeatability,supportability,scalability, andsecurity.
- Make recommendations on technical stack includingresearch,assessments, bake-offs, andproof of concepts.
- Assess and onboard new AWS and GCP services in line with the Product roadmap.
- Drive the deployment of automated infrastructure and systemsusing IAC,configmanagementand scripting.
- Provide subject matter expertiseand adviceto pre-sales architectsonour technical standards.
- Act as a final line of escalation and assistancefor the cloud operations team for major problems.
- Proactively keep up to date on public cloudservicesand related technology.
DesiredSkills and Experience
- 8+ years’ experience insupporting highlycustomer-focused mission critical environments (e.g.,high profile weborenterprise infrastructure) essential.
- 5+ years’ experience ofarchitecting,engineering, or supportingpublic cloudsolutionson AWS or GCP.
- Sound knowledge of AWS or GCP best practice, security considerations, and architectural design patterns.
- Experience of implementing and supporting public-cloudbasedworkloadsand services.
- Hold multiplecurrent AWSor GoogleCloudCertifications(or be able todemonstrateequivalent level of knowledge).
- Experience ofbuilding solutions usingInfrastructure as Code(e.g.,Terraform,Cloud formation)
- Experience of config management systems (e.g.,Ansible).
- Excellent Linux O/Sknowledge and experience(RHCE or equivalent level of knowledge).
- Scripting ability in Python, Perl, orBash.
- Experience of using Git for version control.
- Experience of the AWSor GCPCLIand scripting against it.
- Experience ofworking with, designing, deploying,or supporting containerizedenvironments (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes/Docker)isuseful, but not essential.
- Experience of Jenkinsor other CI/CD pipeline technologyuseful.
- Able to leverageAI tools to improve productivity and quality (e.g. Copilot/Claude/Kiro)
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP.
- A degree in a computing-related discipline preferred or equivalent ability and knowledge.
- Experience working in ITIL and Agileenvironmentsbeneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to share knowledge via clear and concise documentation, and demos/presentations.
- Able to implement supportable solutionsand make the complex simple.
- Able to work in an organized and efficient manner without close supervision
- Must be self-motivated, a self-starter and possessa good working attitude.
- Desire to continually grow, develop and improve.
- Able to perform as a role model within the team.
