Job summary

Persistent Systems is seeking a Senior Cloud Network Engineer with extensive networking and systems engineering experience. You will deploy and troubleshoot cloud-based routing architectures, Linux and Cisco infrastructure, and physical networking hardware in mission-critical environments.

You will lead the Cloud Relay solution across cloud, on-prem, and tactical deployments, collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to solve complex networking challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• AWS Advanced Networking Specialty or equivalent certification or experience.
• 6+ years of experience in Network Engineering and Cloud Network administration.
• Strong understanding of network concepts such as Spanning‑Tree (802.1d/802.1w), EIGRP, OSPF, PIM, IGMPv2, IPsec, IKEv2, and MACsec.
• Strong understanding of layer 2 and layer 3 networking.
• Experience with Cloud provider product deployment such as AWS CloudFormation and Azure Resource Manager.
• Familiar with Cisco and Linux networking concepts.
• Familiar with using tools for data gathering such as Wireshark, iPerf, TCPdump, etc.
• Must be available to travel at least 25% of the time.
• Must have the ability to obtain a United States Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support network solutions utilizing Wave Relay and Cloud Relay technologies, including protocols like Ethernet, MACsec, IPsec, VPN, EIGRP, OSPF, PIM, IGMP.
• Support and facilitate installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring of Wave Relay and Cloud Relay products.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex networking systems.
• Support RFI/RFP technical solutions and responses.
• Develop long-term customer relationships by interpreting requirements, providing training, and offering technical support.
